Read. Reign. Repeat.

Must Have Been Love by Carrie Elks

Queen B’s Decree: Must Have Been Love had some great tropes that were all well done. Enemies-to-lovers? Check. Grumpy x sunshine? Check. Single dad? Check.

Hudson was such a grumpy control freak when we first meet him, but his frosty exterior is hiding a marshmallowy soul. And when Skylar shows up, she’s someone he can’t control so he doesn’t know how to handle that. But their connection is instant and fiery and neither can ignore it.

I loved the character development both of them show; Hudson beginning to give up control and Skylar overcoming her insecurities and becoming more sure of herself. I loved seeing them fall for each other.

Warning, there is a third act break-up and you’ll get mad at some people but everyone (eventually!) communicates and all’s well at the end.

Great side characters and I’m hoping we’ll be able to revisit Liberty Island and all its inhabitants again.
