Queen B’s Decree: Sylvie is a hot mess. She’s been raised by neglected parents all her life and has been cut off by her parents and is now broke. When she’s offered a chance for $10 million for being fake married for a year, even if it’s to a grumpy Scottish man, she jumps at the chance.
I chose to read this as an audio book and 100% no regrets. Scottish accent for a grumpy bear? Yes please.
I love seeing Sylvie and Killian grow feelings and show vulnerabilities, it really showed true character growth and relationship progression. There was a bit of BDSM-lite, but the spice was well balanced with the emotions.
Does Killian have a bunch of red flags? Yes. Is there information about past cheating (not between Killian and Sylvie) that doesn’t really get resolved? Yes. Did I just ignore all this as I listened? Yes.
At the end of the day, Keep Me was an enjoyable read but it has some flaws. A bit of a bully feel, hate to lovers, marriage of convenience, and yet I had a good time. I’m intrigued for more in the series.
