Read. Reign. Repeat.

Leeta Simtar: A Life on Two Planets by Annie Fox

Queen B’s Decree: Somehow I’ve been reading a bunch of sci-fi and space-y books recently, and I’m not at all mad about it.

Leeta Simtar is about a hybrid alien girl who doesn’t fit in on her own planet, Fure. While on a mission in space, she discovers the reason why, and eventually makes her way to Earth.

This story was cute and light, and I loved the found family concept. I enjoyed the world building (just enough for me!) and I really felt transported at times. Yes, it was a little unrealistic that a 6 foot 6 inch teenage alien girl wouldn’t stand out and that no one would question her alienness. But I still enjoyed reading and had a smile the whole time.

As light as this book felt, I still got emotional while reading—the scene with the frig brought me to tears!

I’d definitely read more in this world.
