Queen B’s Decree: This book is not cozy—and yet, while reading I felt like I was wrapped up in a hug.
Elspeth is a selkie who has been through some traumatic shit, and she runs into Aegir while she’s in her seal form. And he’s in his orca form. And tries to eat her. *insert laugh track*
Aegir is the kind of MMC I live for. He is DOWN BAD for Ellie. Literally so bad. And I think that’s what so heartwarming and hug worthy about this book. It’s so refreshing to read characters that are supportive and understanding, wanting what’s best for their partner. It also doesn’t hurt when the chemistry and the steam are on point and sizzling.
After meeting some side characters, I think I need to go back and read the first few books in this series. I’m sucked into this fantasy world. And I need more.
