Queen B’s Decree: Know Your Newlywed was written directly for audio, and created as a graphic audio. It was such a fun and immersive way to listen, with all the sound effects and full cast recording.
Cleo and Javi connect on a dating app where they discover they both have a love of a nostalgic game show, Know Your Newlywed. So when the opportunity comes up to participate on the newly redeveloped show, they pretend to be married and go for it.
The plot (and their relationship) moves at a supersonic pace but it didn’t really take away from my enjoyment. Javi and Cleo together are pretty fun, and I enjoyed their humorous banter. I really liked how they both tried to keep it professional and about winning the game…but neither could resist the other. It’s a great example of the fake dating trope…where fake turns to real dating very quickly.
The narrators really made this one, although every time I heard Tyler Posey I kept waiting for Dylan O’Brien to sneak up and make a witty comment. Overall, a fun listen.
