Queen B’s Decree: Oof, the grief and emotion in this series just doesn’t stop coming, does it?
Teddy is a newly-widowed mom of two (soon to be three) and she’s just moved in next door to her brother’s best friend/boss, Xander. And Xander is this hot, older dude who never thought he’d have a family since he was married to his job. But maybe he just hadn’t met the right woman yet (nice he’s been crushing on Teddy since the first time they met years ago).
I usually find stories about widows and widowers hard. How do you move on, when is the right time? How do you keep them in your heart while still allowing space for a new love? It’s so complex.
But it works here. Xander is so respectful about Teddy and her love of Logan, while being a solid presence for her and her children. He never pushes her beyond her comfort zone but is always there when she needs him. And alternatively, Teddy challenges him to think differently and reflect on his choices. Also did I mention the spice? Xander is ✨wipes sweat off forehead✨ hot.
Ugh, just thinking about this book is making me want to cry again—but in the good way, like you want.
Honor was my first from Danielle Baker but definitely won’t be my last.
