Queen B’s Decree: A love triangle is not my favorite trope, but this one included a character just waking from a coma. I had to know what would happen.
And I learned this felt less like a love triangle, and more like a widow who hasn’t even attempted to process her grief. While technically Keane is alive, he’s been dead to Ophelia for five years and it honestly feels like Ophelia is just living in her grief? Even while dating Haydn (for years!!), it truly felt like Haydn was just some consolation prize on the periphery that she uses when needed.
Can you tell I didn’t really vibe with her?
But Haydn and Keane? I loved them. Haydn is so strong, and just puts it all out there. Supportive and sweet, I wished Ophelia matched his level of goodness. And while Keane was a train wreck in his life before the accident, it was clear that he was trying to grow for himself, to become a better person.
Overall, this was an angsty and emotional read that would be best for someone who loves an ugly cry kind of book!
