Queen B’s Decree: Catbird reads like journal entries from around the time of Russia’s invasion into Ukraine, beginning in February 2022.
And honestly, after the last few weeks, it felt very timely. I’m not here to debate politics…but the Russian invasion is exceptionally relevant today. Catbird was a much needed reminder that we can’t bury our heads in the sand and ignore what’s happening. That no matter what, the problems and issues will still be here.
I especially liked the descriptions of the different bird species, and how they can be considered metaphors of people (or countries). Overall, Catbird was an interesting read that made me think.
