Queen B’s Decree: I love an enemies-to-lovers trope, and Gus really delivered on the “asshole MMC that becomes a softy.”
Teddy/Theodora is the “fixer;” she takes care of everyone, chips in and helps, but who is there to take care of her? And Gus is the same, never wanting to ask for help. It really made sense that the two would fight—they are basically the same person deep down. Just wanting to love and be loved. But before they got to that point, phewwwww the back and forth banter was hilarious.
The spice was just right, and I loved seeing them fall for each other. It really highlights that it’s the little things in life that make up the big moments.
I think what I loved the most was strangely the parent-child relationships; between Teddy and Hank and between Gus and Riley. I am not ashamed to admit but I happy cried while listening. The two narrators (Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor) did such a wonderful job. The emotions they brought forth hit me right in the feels.
I can’t wait for Cam and Dusty’s story!
