Queen B’s Decree: A Devil in Every Dark Corner was simultaneously funny, dark, morbid, and creepy and I couldn’t put it down. You know, it reminds me of the Scream movies a bit: some gore, some death, funny one-liners, and characters you root for.
I loved Imogen; she wanted to get away from the paranormal investigations her family undertook and tried to escape to a human bakery. But it’s like they always say, you can take the girl out of the paranormal, but you can’t take the paranormal out of the girl. Or…something like that.
Even with the mystery of the evil bad witch and the thrills of the fight, this felt most like a story of sisterhood. The emotional connection and love between Carmen and Imogen nearly leaps off the page and I just wanted them to stay happy forever.
Slight spoiler alert here but—is it just me, or was I the only one hoping for a second chance romance…between the demon?
Overall, I loved A Devil in Every Dark Corner and I can’t wait for more sisterly adventures.
