Read. Reign. Repeat.

My Secret Vice by Alicia Wilder

Queen B’s Decree: I’m not usually into political plot lines—it’s just too close to reality for me at times—but I got into this one.

I appreciated that both main characters were older, you don’t often see a heroine over the age of 40 in contemporary romance. And the older I get, the more I prefer seeing aging characters. I just need someone else to complain about a sore back upon waking, okay??

My Secret Vice felt like a forbidden romance, the push and pull between Alex and Cindy was so believable. It’s got to be so tough to live in the public eye, knowing that your every moment could affect your career. Can you imagine having to call your boyfriend’s secret service staff and having all messages and calls monitored? Makes me glad I’m just a normal human being, I can play around on social media all I want.

Overall this was an entertaining read with enjoyable characters (Thor, the dog, was my favorite!).
