Queen B’s Decree: Love and Other Cages is technically a standalone, but the story moves quickly at the beginning and I think you’d benefit from reading Love and Other Sins to get to know the characters better before diving into this one. And by “story moves quickly,” I mean there is a shoot out and attempted abduction in the first two chapters. ✨insert zero to sixty car ad✨. From there, the story just keeps flying by.
The romance is minimal, as the characters are separated for most of the story. But I couldn’t help but admire Oliver’s dedication and persistence in searching for Mina. He seems like a loyal friend and boyfriend and that’s such a lovable thing to be.
The content warnings list violence and dark themes, but I do really think that should have been clarified and expanded as there is on page SA and literal torture.
Overall, this was a whirlwind with a book with honestly a wild and crazy plot line that kept me turning the pages.
