Read. Reign. Repeat.

A Love Most Fatal by Kath Richards

Queen B’s Decree: Am I in love with The Sopranos and have watched it multiple times? Yes. Thus, I KNEW I needed to read A Love Most Fatal. A female mafia boss with a mild-mannered middle school teacher? This is the pairing I never knew I needed until now.

I couldn’t get enough of this book. Nate and Vanessa’s interactions were so real. I think I loved Nate’s transformation and reactions the most. I mean, who wouldn’t be freaked out finding out your date is a mob boss? And that now you need her protection? Got a little forced proximity trope mixed with a “who did this to you?” vibe from Vanessa. I loved seeing her protect her pure baby, Nate.

And the side characters. Well fleshed out without taking over the main romance and plot. I already want to read Mary’s book.

The suspense and mystery that goes on had me hooked. I had my suspicions about who was “the bad guy” and god do I love being right but I still was kind of shocked when the reveal happened.

A wonderful debut from Kath Richards.
