Read. Reign. Repeat.

Repeat After Me by Jessica Warman

Queen B’s Decree: What happens when a couple teenagers are stuck on a remote island…and there are no repercussions when they are stuck in a time loop? Repeat After Me explores that.

I couldn’t stop reading. Definitely a dark comedy, these kids are crass, abrasive, secretive, and explore the limits of humanity—since there is nothing to stop them (except their own conscience, perhaps?). Emma is our primary narrator, and she spends her time alternating between trying to figure out a way out of the time loop, or getting back at her ex-best friend or cheating boyfriend.

Repeat After Me is at times exceptionally dark and disturbing, then hilariously ridiculous and lighthearted. It’s hard to describe what makes this book so enjoyable (it’s just….weird af) but I basically read it all in an entire sitting.

I’ll absolutely have to keep an eye on this author.
