Queen B’s Decree: This book was a delight, I couldn’t put it down. It’s got the mystery of an Agatha Christie novel, the snark that I can’t resist, and just enough fantasy world building to make it interesting.
You can’t help but love Dee. He’s the narrator for our story so you get the full range of his emotions: self-deprecation, grief, protectiveness, vulnerability, love. Frankly, he’s hilarious, but so many times I wanted to give him a hug. He needed someone on his side.
Voyage of the Damned really had all the high points for me. A murder mystery I couldn’t solve, the best found family trope, a Fruits Basket kind of cast, and plenty of queer characters. It was exactly my kind of book; I loved it and already want to read it again.
