Read. Reign. Repeat.

Elizabeth of East Hampton by Audrey Bellezza and Emily Harding

Queen B’s Decree: I see Pride and Prejudice-inspired and I go “gimme.” Even my husband goes “another P&P? Haven’t you read enough?” No, husband. I have not.

Elizabeth of East Hampton just hit the spot. Close enough to the original story without feeling like it was rewritten verbatim, both likable (and unlikable) characters, modern adaption that fit the class difference, and the spice I always wanted in the original.

EoEH really shined with the sisterly support. Current day Lydia is a flakey little sister, but she’s not a terrible human being. All five sisters may bicker and fight but their support and protection of each other was very prevalent and made the story even more enjoyable.

And Darcy! He was the perfect epitome of damaged boy hidden with a snobby ice king facade. He’s blond 👀

I’m in love with this series and now I can’t wait for Persuasion.
