The Concealed by S.K. Horton

Queen B’s Decree: The Concealed had such a nostalgic feeling for me. It was very reminiscent of YA paranormal I’d read many moons ago. And honestly, I still really love those kinds of books.

Cate is our FMC, who meets two boys on her first day of college in a different country. And surprise! She’s a princess from another realm who was taken to the USA at birth to be hidden away, and these two boys are assigned to protect and bring her to her home realm. Do I detect a love triangle vibe? You bet your butt I do.

While kind of instalove-y, I still enjoyed seeing Cate learn (and sometimes flounder) in this new world while creating relationships with both boys. It was so realistic that she’d struggle, make mistakes, and rebel against what she is being told to do.

Ending with a cliffhanger, the plot was very engaging and kept you on your toes. Throw in some good world building and this series has got me hooked. Can’t wait to see where this story goes!
