Queen B’s Decree: Renaissance Fair with a reverse age gap? Yes, please.
Elise is our older FMC (even though she’s younger than me 😭) and it honestly feels like she’s in the middle of a midlife crisis. There’s some instalove with her and the white knight, Rhys, and as soon as they meet, her decision making skills seem to go out the window. Girl, you’re getting divorced so you need a solid income (and health insurance, thanks USA) but she keeps calling into work and neglecting her responsibilities. It definitely makes me give her some side eye.
But despite…Elise, I really enjoyed Rhys and his merry band of knights. They really had created this loyal family, and they immediately brought Elise into the fold, no hesitation.
Overall, I wish we had gotten Rhys’ point of view, and I still don’t really like Elise. But dang, I’d like to go to the Ren Fest now.
