Queen B’s Decree: I enjoyed Loch’s and Noah’s stories so was excited to read the final sibling’s, Marina’s, story. She and Cash have a bit of a meet cute where they banter and insult each other. She’s technically an owner of the racing company that Cash works for, but there is no real “boss / employee” vibe going on, as she’s a silent partner.
I did feel like their relationship moved quickly. One moment Marina is complaining about Cash, the next she’s calling him to bail her out of a very public club (did I mention she’s a famous actress and paparazzi are following her?). And just before then, Cash is thinking about how he needs to focus on his image since he shares custody of his son with his vengeful ex-girlfriend…but he risks going out in public anyway? ✨It’s fiction, Stephanie—let it go✨
Despite that, I enjoyed them together. Their long distance relationship led to some fun texting and phone calls and I loved them getting to know each other. Cash’s relationship with Cullen was super adorable and he was the cutest.
Third act break-up, which is painful, but their reunion is worth the pain. Overall, When I Had You was an enjoyable read and I’m ready for the next…Poppy perhaps??
