Queen B’s Decree: I am back, with another Tessa Hale book that I read in a single sitting.
Midnight of Ashes picks up immediately where the first book left off, and the plot feels like it’s moving at a breakneck speed. Or maybe that was my heart rate? I was so invested.
Hayden’s relationship with her dragon boys continues to grow in Midnight of Ashes. Her bonds deepen with a few, and she’s breaking down the walls of others. I loved how each member of her horde seems to complement her; they all really worked together so well.
The spice is just right, with emotional connection and personal growth, leading to well fleshed out characters. I am once again, stricken by the cliffhanger, and I can’t wait for the conclusion to the story.
And don’t think I didn’t notice the little hints, I’ve got a pretty good guess who the heroine will be in the next series. And I want more.
