Queen B’s Decree: When my book club was picking our next book, we decided on cowboys. I knew then, it was time to finally start the Chestnut Springs series.
Flawless had some surprising depth for something that feels like a light and fluffy read. Rhett is a bull rider at the top (and end) of his career and Summer is his agent’s daughter, assigned to babysit him as a PR move. It starts with a lot of sniping back and forth, hiding their attraction, and it soon develops into more. I really appreciated learning more about Rhett’s insecurities and fear and Summer’s childhood trauma.
The third act break-up was painful, and oooof I wanted some more grovel on both sides.
But, I’m now hooked and I need to read the next book featuring one of my favorite tropes…a grumpy hero.
