Queen B’s Decree: I must have been in my cowboy era when I discovered Paisley Hope and immediately signed up to read her debut. And boy, am I glad I did.
Holding the Reins was a fantastic read. Great characterizations, just the right amount of steam, a wonderful sense of familial support, and true emotional connection. Nash was a deep and troubled Hero, yet his protectiveness over CeCe was so heartwarming. Their banter was fun and hilarious, and their chemistry was clear to see.
I mean, look at this trope list:
- older brother’s best friend
- age gap
- no third act break-up
- found family
- small town romance
- protective Hero who falls hard
I couldn’t put it down and I’m seriously impressed that this is a debut. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on Paisley Hope and I’m ready for more.
