Queen B’s Decree: Poppy and Ethan had some history, with some mutual sniping when they were “rivals” in high school. After the downfall of Poppy’s family, her and Ethan meet up in college later after she gets a scholarship. And sparks fly immediately.
I liked the interaction between Poppy and Ethan. It was less enemies and more “attention grabbing actions” that very—VERY— quickly turns into a relationship. But meh, you know I love an instalove-y obsessed hero so I’m okay with it. Ethan is the wealthy and protective hero that secretly buys her groceries and you know I’m all about that.
What I loved more than the romance in Broken Rivalry? Poppy’s relationship with her mom and brothers. It was so supportive and loving and made my heart so happy. Poppy’s friendship with her fellow scholarship recipient roommates was also a great part of the story. I loved how they all supported each other and it definitely gave us an insight into the future books in the series.
Overall, Broken Rivalry was a quick and enjoyable read.
