Queen B’s Decree: I don’t know how I found out about this book…but it’s been sitting on my TBR for a while. And I recently discovered my library had it on audio. So poof! I actually had time to read it!
And it was amazing. Maybe it’s because I’ve recently been obsessed with playing Diablo 4, but I loved the video game/Dungeons & Dragons aspect of it. Basically this story tackles the question of “what happens after you defeat the bad guy in a quest?” Arek and his band of friends just defeated the evil king and Arek gets bound to the throne…then discovers he has to find his soulmate before his next birthday (3 months yo!).
It’s almost like a comedy of errors. None of this book would happen if Arek was a better communicator or actually confessed his feelings. But then we wouldn’t have the hilarious, sweet, and fantastical happenings that occur. And it was well worth the ride.
This was my first read from F.T. Lukens but definitely not my last as I am now obsessed.
