Queen B’s Decree: Along Came Charlie was a very realistic portrayal of two people who meet, sparks fly but they both have some baggage, and instead decide to become friends first. The friendship between the two Charlies was my favorite part of the story; it felt so normal and real.
Male Charlie was the best—he’d recognized issues within himself on his own and purposefully chose to work on them and change himself for the better. And it was all for himself; he wasn’t trying to change himself to suit another person. Female Charlie was a bit like an ostrich; she definitely buried her head in the sand a lot. But hey, I can relate to wanting to live in denial, so I can understand. She frustrated me at times though, I wanted her to wake up and see what was right in front of her face
Overall, Along Came Charlie was a sweet romance with a very long slow burn. I loved seeing their friendship develop but I did wish for more romance between them, as that was a long time coming.
