Read. Reign. Repeat.

Nightcrawling by Leila Mottley

Queen B’s Decree: I’ve recently learned that audiobooks are the best way for me to conquer my TBR. And the audio for Nightcrawling was pretty fantastic. I’ve been trying to go outside my comfort zone, and this one was definitely out of my norm.

Nightcrawling is depressing, frankly. Kiara is stuck in this never-ending life of struggle and darkness. She’s just trying to survive and gets caught up in something so much bigger than her. But here is where the audio shined. The narrator was so good, I felt like I was living and seeing through Kiara’s eyes. It was so well-written, and the words flowed so beautifully.

It’s strange, that a story that was so depressing and harsh, used such beautiful and flowery prose. And yet, it worked well.

At the end of the day, I’m glad I read this, even though it wasn’t my normal happily ever after.
