Queen B’s Decree: There was a lot going on in Accidentally in Love. Kingston and Myka have been in each other’s orbit for years, so when they meet up on a dating app they decide…one night couldn’t hurt, right? And thus begins their “no, we’re totally just hooking up, no feelings, except we talk all the time and spend a lot of time together” game.
I did feel like there was a lot going on in Accidentally in Love. A ton of side characters take up so much space that I felt like the romance between Kingston and Myka was moved to the back burner. And while Myka was super supportive of Kingston (and his sister) and proactively recommending therapy for him, I wanted to yell out “pot calling the kettle black,” as Myka desperately needed some therapy too.
At the end of the day, I always enjoy Claudia Burgoa’s stories and this is no exception. Accidentally in Love was a cute story with insight into trauma, support, and how family can come together.
