Queen B’s Decree: I’ll take a kidnapping for 200, Alex.
Gideon is a drug lord, but he still has his code of loyalty, so he promises to watch out for a dead friend’s sister. The moment he sees Sasha, he gets a tiny bit obsessed. And I don’t blame him. Sasha was fantastic: strong-willed, hardworking, yet vulnerable. Gideon’s “touch her and die” vibes may seem a bit over the top and dramatic, but his constancy and protective nature is what finally won Sasha over.
Sinful Crown was such a quick read for me—I couldn’t put it down. I was enthralled by the suspense and the storyline, hooked onto the mystery. And I loved the interactions between Gideon and Sasha. His methods were a bit extreme (understatement!) but they both emotionally connected and let their walls down. The level of spice was just right and those scenes were very well-written.
Overall, while Gideon is technically a “villain,” he wasn’t unredeemable, nor did Sinful Crown feel too dark for me. My first read by Ava Harrison, but hopefully not my last.
