Shadows and Curses by Willow Hadley

Queen B’s Decree: Willow Hadley has some kind of magic; I’m obsessed with her YA books. 100%, totally obsessed.

Shadows and Curses was no different. I was enthralled with Harriett and her boys and I couldn’t put it down. All the characters felt like they had individualized voices and I loved getting everyone’s point-of-view. There also was a great twist on the grumpy/sunshine trope, with Harriett as the grump with the inner marshmallow soul. The relationship progression was a bit of a slow burn but it was sweet and adorable.

The storyline was engaging and flowed well. The “side quests” with the ghosts was really interesting and just made me want more.

Frankly, I have no criticisms except that I want the next book now. I can’t be patient. NEED.
