Queen B’s Decree: I enjoyed the progression in Along Came You. Fern is dealing with the misogyny you sometimes find in male-oriented fields, when out of nowhere, she encounters Elliot at a coffeeshop. Elliot (although he doesn’t admit this to himself until far later) is immediately smitten and does everything he can to help her achieve her goals.
What I liked about Along Came You was that, despite their age gap, Fern and Elliot felt upon equal footing. Due to her father’s death, Fern had to grow up really quick so she’s always been wiser beyond her years. And Elliot is on the run, searching for a place or person to call homeāeven if he denies that’s what he wants.
Typical Claudia Burgoa romance with enjoyable sex scenes and great character progression. Along Came You definitely whetted my appetite for the rest of the Spearman siblings.
