Read. Reign. Repeat.

Something Like Love by Claudia Burgoa

Queen B’s Decree: Both Chloe and Burke have a problem: they’ve been scammed. Burke’s “friend” slash business manager is gone and has embezzled his winery’s money. Chloe’s roommate sold the house out from under her, including all her belongings, so she’s effectively homeless. Burke and Chloe met and had a moment not long ago, so when Chloe comes to him in need, Burke can’t resist her.

Something Like Love started out fun. The chemistry between Chloe and Burke was obvious, so it seemed silly that both tried to deny their feelings. Their banter was cute and hilarious, and their sex scenes were steamy and sweet.

Burke’s family (and Chloe’s, to be honest) seemed very intrusive and judgmental. I liked them better in Zach’s book, Until Next Time, but they seemed rude and exclusive in Something Like Love. But I can accept that rich families act funny about money.

What really bothered me was Chloe. She was naive and afraid of life. Without spoiling it, I felt like there was forced angst added to the story and wasn’t necessarily needed nor realistic. I just want some communication between our Hero and our Heroine!!

Still heartily enjoyed Something Like Love and I’ll be awaiting the next in the series!
