Into The Woods Monster Anthology

Queen B’s Decree: There were quite a few novellas in this monster anthology, but I’m going to note and review those that stood out to me.

Foxing by Ashley Bennett: I’ve been interested in Kitsunes since I watched the Teen Wolf reboot some years ago, so I was very excited for this one. I loved that the Kitsune was the dominant one and kind of talks Kazuo into doing…whatever she wants. With a little bit of Japanese mythology, Foxing felt like a great introduction to a bigger story. The sex and steam was just right with enough plot to keep you wanting more.

Hookah Smoking Caterpillar by Beatrix Hollow: I don’t know what it was about this one, but I was all in. A play on Alice in Wonderland, our Alice goes to this sex club to finally deal with her obsession with Caterpillar (who is legit a bug??) but also turns out that the Cheshire Cat may have a bit of obsession with her too. Crazy good steam with weird freaking anatomy and yet, where can I get more?

Captured by the Wolven by L.V. Lane: I cannot resist this very specific childhood-friends-separate-but-then-he-kidnaps-her trope. This felt less like kidnapping and more like meant to be. Add in a bit of the fated mate trope, and you’ve got yourself an enjoyable read.

Incubus Dreams by Maeve Black: Somnophilia and an incubus: what a great combination. While I am angry at the “friend” on behalf of our heroine, this story intrigued me so much. There is a fated mate aspect that is like kryptonite to me. I was enthralled enough that I already have preordered the next in this series.

All in all, this was a sexy anthology with a variety of monsters but with plenty of steam.
