Queen B’s Decree: Julian (aka The Commander) is the man behind the scenes at Hidden Justice and he’s looking to hire a new part-time secretary for his cushy, “make this look legal” office. He’s expecting older, near retirement-age women until Taliyah crashes into his life last-minute. Sparks fly and Julian is immediately smitten, unable to resist his instinct to be near her or protect her.Taliyah has had a rough life so is drawn to the security Julian’s office provides. The more she’s with the man, the more she can’t resist him either.
But both of them have secrets. Secrets that should definitely have been communicated after they impulsively got married, but great communication doesn’t equal great angst in literature.
I found Tally hard to connect with. She made some questionable decisions and didn’t have the best reactions after she and Julian were reunited. But Julian was a sweet and protective Hero. I found it easier to forgive his transgressions and omissions, as his intention was pure.
Romantic, with a little suspense, and a lot of angst, The Commander was a great addition to the series.
