Bad Judgment by Meghan March

Queen B’s Decree: This one has been on my TBR list for YEARS. Years, y’all.

YEARS.

Now that I’ve finally read it, I can easily tell it’s an earlier Meghan March book, as her later books have improved writing and story lines. Bad Judgment was a little cliched: the no-nonsense, on scholarship law student Justine and the rich, man-whore who can’t take the answer “no” Ryker. Ryker has been asking Justine out for their two years of law school, but she continues to tell him no. Does that mean he takes her answer and leaves her alone? Or does he stay true and not whore around? NOPE to all those.

Despite that, I still was interested in the characters and their relationship progression. Justine starts spending time with Ryker after his father essentially agrees to pay her tuition (when her scholarship is abruptly cancelled), so it all feels a little icky at first. But you soon find out both Justine and Ryker had secrets, and while I understand not immediately telling their new partner, it did create some unnecessary angst.

Bad Judgment was an okay read, but not memorable. Although both characters are in their second year of law school (and thus have already completed a four-year undergraduate degree), both Justine and Ryker felt a little immature. The steam was nice and I enjoyed their sexy banter. Overall, Bad Judgment was an easy and quick read, but I’ve enjoyed other Meghan March books much more.
