Queen B’s Decree: The moment Torius meets the infant Danyetta, he recognizes her as his fated mate. Slight side note: I recently binge watched the entire Twilight series (do not recommend this) and the way Tor meets Dani reminded me of Jacob imprinting upon that CGI monster Renesmee. Except The Fae Warrior’s Princess dealt with this the absolute best way: Tor runs away and avoids Dani until she’s an adult. Jacob being around Renesmee as she grows up is…weird and gross.
While Tor thinks Dani doesn’t know she’s his mate, she remembers everything from that moment, despite her young age. So once she hits 18, she gets tired of waiting and goes to the human realm to find him. Their reunion is everything I could have hoped for. I loved that Tor stayed true to Dani while he was gone (although with the way time passes in the human realm versus the Fae, in hindsight he wasn’t really gone that long). They are emergently called back to the Fae realm and from there the action just keeps going.
Lots of twists and turns (and a dragon!) and The Fae Warrior’s Princess was a fun and fast-paced read. My only criticism is that the plot kind of went off course for me towards the end and too much was going on to follow. Regardless, this was another great read from one of my favorites, Jamie Schlosser.
