After my record-breaking year of 2020, my reading levels decreased back to a normal rate. Even less than previous years. I pondered this with both Prince Consort B and Queen J – why did I read so much less this year? Was it that work was so much harder mentally? Did I stop reading fluffy novellas from Kindle Unlimited?
Regardless of the reason, my reads are constantly adjusting and changing. 2021 was another year for minimal rereads as I continued to explore new authors and genres. If you want to check out my past Top Reads Lists, might be a fun comparison to be had!
- Perfect on Paper by Sophie Gonzales – a queer YA that gave me all the feels
- Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert – neuroatypical characters that I adored
- Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh – the entire Psy-Changeling series is amazing but Kaleb is my number one 4eva
- The Charlotte Reynolds Series by Willow Hadley – Is there anything she writes that I won’t read?
- The entire Promised in Blood Series by Lilith Vincent – SO DANG GOOD
- Hellfire Club series by Becker Gray – dark but with swoon worthy and adoring heroes
- Twisted Love by Ana Huang – all the grovel porn you could ask for
- Dirty Curve by Meagan Brandy – never thought I’d ever love baseball but…Tobias Cruz changed my mind
- A reread of Notice by K Webster always makes me happy
- The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren – a science-y little romance to make the nerd in me squeal with joy
- And I can’t forget my ultimate true love of 2021, Lola and the Millionaires by Kathryn Moon
So last year I upped my list to include 11 bullet points. And come on, I can’t do LESS, so let’s Spinal Tap it up and continue it all the way to 11. At the end of this, I realize I left so many amazing books off the list, but alas, 11 is only 11 and I gotta cap it sometime.
