Queen B’s Decree: Out of the Blue was a little more angsty than I expected.
Blue is working and living at an animal rescue when her best friend from L.A. “volunteers” the farm as the location for mandatory community service for a troubled actor. What she doesn’t expect is his bossy, older brother to move in too. Blue is immediately attracted to Shane and doesn’t hide it really well, so they play this long game of “will they or won’t they” until the temperature finally kicks it up a notch.
I found Blue to be the most interesting character. She experienced some severe trauma in her past, yet she was still such a strong character. She was loving and sweet but she doesn’t start to let her walls down until she gets to know Shane and his brother Aiden well. Shane was more of a mystery, but we eventually get to understand his past and how that shaped him. I thought his relationship with Blue progressed well, but it always felt like Blue felt more, so I didn’t believe in him as much.
The side characters were some of the best, and they seriously added to the enjoyment of the story. Mona was so well written, I wish I could meet her in real life.
Another great slow burn from P. Dangelico.
