Queen B’s Decree: Grumpy/Sunshine was the name of the trope here.
Gabriella is the aristocrat here and she’s not your typical rich and spoiled heroine. She’s kind and loving and is always willing to help out her village/community. So it’s hard to understand why Miles, the head gardener of the estate, seems to hate her so intensely. He took enemies-to-lovers to the next level. I honestly don’t know why Gabi liked him. He was rude and disrespectful and I don’t think his apology was acceptable.
Otherwise Love Language was relatively low angst, filled with wacky side characters and funny situations. Due to my dislike of Miles, I thought the romance was a little weak, but overall the story was enjoyable.
I thought this was a great set up for a new series introducing a bunch of new characters.
