Queen B’s Decree: Say I’m the One was all-consuming. I had nearly forgot how Siobhan Davis can dial up the angst. Whenever I think I’d rather read something easy and light, she hooks me and sucks me into this emotional roller coaster.
While SITO is a love triangle of sorts, it doesn’t feel that way. Vivien has always loved Reeve, so when he breaks her heart she does her best to heal. Dillon comes out of nowhere, when she least expected it or wanted it. While yes, Vivien appears to be torn between the two, each romance felt as if it stood on its own.
In no way could I have predicted the twists and turns that occurred at the end. It’s like Siobhan Davis took the cliffhanger amplifier and turned it up to 11. My heart felt like I’d gone into palpitations while reading. I can’t remember any recent book that invoked such strong emotions from me as SITO did.
Emotional, angsty, dramatic, and indescribable, SITO is one of Siobhan Davis’s best works yet.
