Queen B’s Decree: Otterly Irresistible is another great read from Erin Nicholas that I couldn’t stop reading. This had one of my favorite tropes: the grumpy hero.
Griffin is our grump. He’s the newest veterinarian down in a small town in the bayou after he’s been fired for standing up for the treatment of animals at the national zoos. He runs into sunny optimist Charlie at a wedding (as seen in Four Weddings and a Swamp Boat Tour) and there is an instant connection. But Charlie is moving to Paris in two days so both feel free to enjoy their single night to the fullest.
When Charlie ends up back in the Bayou with the rest of the Landrys she ends up working as Griffin’s assistant. They both find it hard to resist their magnetic attraction and their chemistry is off the charts. Griffin needed someone to bring back the passion he lost in his profession, and Charlie needs someone to ground her and find her place in life.
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a hundred times more: Erin Nicholas is the best at characterizations. Her characters have so much life to them and she makes it so easy to relate. Emotionally rich, with sizzling and sexy scenes, Otterly Irresistible is charming, endearing, and lovable. Another five star read from Erin Nicholas.
