Queen B’s Decree: Badly Behaved did not go the way I expected.
Jameson was an interesting character. Initially, she gives off this sense of apathy; as if her life plan is set in stone and she’s just there letting everything happen to her. She’s her mother’s puppet, planning to fulfill the life of a socialite. That sense of DGAF is what draws the “Blackout Boys” to her and she becomes entangled with Ransom, Arsen, and Beretta.
There was a lot of back and forth between Jameson and the Boys giving us both some super hot scenes and major angst.
I think my issue with Badly Behaved is that it felt like an alternate universe of Brayshaw High. One damaged, sort of badass Heroine: check. Three damaged, closer than blood best friends: check. A relationship that somehow involves all four, yet you’re not sure of how it all goes until the end: check.
That all said, Badly Behaved was well written and an enjoyment to read. I’m hoping we get a novella or an extended epilogue about the Blackout Boys as I’m so interested in learning more about their backstories.
