Queen B’s Decree: This one felt weird to me. Cyrus and his pack of werewolves find eight-year-old Remy after his family has been murdered, and he himself assaulted and attacked. Cyrus brings Remy into his pack and spends the next 10 years being overprotective and supportive.
Remy is turning 18 and is resentful of Cyrus. He feels smothered and hates everyone and just wants to leave. Cyrus can’t stop himself from being an overprotective alpha and they can’t stop fighting. It’s here that their dynamic starts to change. And while yes, nothing happens until Remy is 18, it still feels a little icky to me. FATED MATES. Y’all know I love that shit. But even that didn’t save it for me.
The suspense was interesting and the surprise at the end was unexpected. But the excessive teenage angst was too much for me. Remy was an annoying brat and Cyrus was a bit of a bully and the side characters were more likable than our heroes.
A quick and easy read, but not my favorite.
