Read. Reign. Repeat.

She by H.C. Warner

Queen B’s Decree: She sounded interesting. A gender reversal from the typical male stalker. These cases of controlling and abusive women don’t get talked about as much as they should, so to see this book highlight it was refreshing.

Unfortunately, She didn’t live up to my expectations. It was a little boring and honestly it read like a bad Lifetime movie, and not the kind of bad that you still secretly enjoy. Bella was a terrible character. Her entire personality was like a badly written manipulative femme fatale. And Ben was this oblivious and easily brow beaten man. I don’t want to victim shame but it felt as if his character was begging to be abused.

The secret plot line was not that interesting and I just got bored. I quit at about 45%. Definitely didn’t “thrill” me.
