Queen B’s Decree: The Fae King’s Dream is the second in the Between Dawn and Dusk series and it focuses on one of my favorite things: fated mates. Having one person out there that is perfectly made for you? That’s the stuff of dreams.
And speaking of dreams, our main character Damon is a dream walker. That’s the only time he can see, as he’s been blind since birth due due to the witch’s curse (just like our buddy Kirian in book #1!). His parents are in the human realm searching for his mate, and they’ve found her…in critically condition in a coma. That’s where Damon and Whitney first meet, since a coma can be a form of sleep.
Once they are reunited and Whitney is on the mend, magic and suspense just keep happening. One thing I loved about this book was the lack of romantic angst. Once Damon and Whitney meet there is no question who they are to one another. While it’s not exactly smooth sailing (I legit cried at one point!), it’s satisfying to have a couple so into the other without it being overbearing and boring.
Loved revisiting Quinn and Kirian and the insight into Zander. Between Dawn and Dusk is a series I’ll be coming back to in the future.
