Read. Reign. Repeat.

Lost Boy by Ker Dukey

Queen B’s Decree: I saw “serial killer” in the blurb and I immediately said to myself “sign me up.” I think I’ve mentioned this before, I have a fascination for true crime and the psychology behind the murder and/or motive. And since I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Ker Dukey, I had some high hopes for Lost Boy.

When Lizzy was a child, serial killer Willis Langford murdered her mother and kidnapped her best friend, Jack. Since then she has coped by keeping friends and family at a distance, while dealing with the nightmares she frequently has of Jack.

She’s working and going to college when she gets a new neighbor that she can’t explain her reaction to. Coincidentally, people connected to her keep ending up dead. Is Willis coming for her? Is it a copycat? Is Lizzy next?!?

Great mixture of romance and thriller, as I kept guessing and wondering what would happen next. The connection between Lizzy and her mystery man was visceral and I kept rooting for them.

Thrilling and suspenseful, I found myself surprised by the ending – I never guessed the twists and turns that came.
