Queen B’s Decree: This was Willow Winter’s foray into paranormal/shifter romance, but in reality it reads more like a typical dark romance. Grace and Lizzie come from abused and damaged homes and they finally feel like they are on the track to surviving and thriving, when it comes time for The Offering.
Their town has a treaty with the werewolves to help defend them from the vampires. Once a year all women aged 19-21 have to attend The Offering, but no one has been chosen in over 100 years. Until this year. Grace and Lizzie are both chosen…but neither knows why or what for.
This all comes down to the fated mate trope, which I wholeheartedly love. Add in some ridiculously hot chemistry and intimate scenes, with some chapters from the male characters’ points of view, and you’ve got an enjoyable read.
My biggest complaint is the ending felt unfinished. The end of the book felt like an end of the chapter, as if it ended mid-way through the book or story. On the plus side, that means we will be revisiting these characters with another book soon! Plus can we get some werewolf shifting action?
