Read. Reign. Repeat.

Reforming Kent by Siobhan Davis

Queen B’s Decree: I sat on this book for a while before I wrote this review; I needed time to let it sink in and percolate.

Kent has always been the troublemaker of all his brothers. He’s an addict that has been self-medicating his pain with drugs, alcohol, and women. When he meets Presley, he is immediately drawn to her as she is one of the only people he’s met who has no interest in his fame or money.

Their connection was intense. They both have gone through some rough times in their pasts. But despite their pasts, they both seemed to support each other beautifully and emotionally grow.

What I was struggling with…was should they end up together. They went through a super traumatic event and it just made me wonder. Were they truly good for each other? Is that something they’d both be able to work through and accept? I don’t think there is any shame in accepting that a relationship or friendship isn’t healthy for future growth, and in the case of Reforming Kent, I began to think that the ending felt forced to me.

But what kind of romance novel doesn’t have a happily ever after?

Regardless, Reforming Kent was exceptionally well written with great emotional depth.
