Read. Reign. Repeat.

Fake by Tate James

Queen B’s Decree: The Madison Kate Series gets more and more crazy as each book goes on, and yet I’m still totally enthralled.

At the end of Liar we get some crazy news about Archer and Madison Kate’s marriage. And naturally, MK is pissed. Can’t blame her, I’d be angry if I found out I was married like a business transaction without my consent. She runs away to lick her wounds and when she returns, I was happy to see she didn’t play any more immature pranks.

Instead I thought it was even more devious, in a way. Kody and Steele essentially have to earn back their way into both her bed and heart (although MK really doesn’t have it in her to keep a grudge; she forgives easily when the apology is sincere). And the best part of Fake? Archer. We finally get to see more of what he truly feels as he lets down his guard.

Now, I’m choosing to ignore the ridiculous over the top scenarios. I just have a hard time believing that those three BOYS are such scions of gang-like crime that they have the city in fear of them. But I’m not here for realism, I’m here for entertainment and hot sex and Fake 100% provides.

I like MK’s progression. She’s growing up and maturing and starting to notice what her flaws and weaknesses are. The relationship between her and the boys is the forefront of this series, and it ebbs and flows constantly (not unlike real life, except at a supersonic speed). The suspense here is killing me and I can’t wait for the continuation in Kate.
