Read. Reign. Repeat.

Breaking Her In by Brianna Hale

Queen B’s Decree: Breaking Her In was a great continuation of the Court of Paravel series. It was another quick and steamy read, just what I’ve come to expect from Brianna Hale.

Aubrey started as a bit of a brat, but you can’t help but understand her. She’s lived most of her life away from her home country, while her father was imprisoned. Once he’s released, he soon starts a new relationship with the only friend she’s made. So to say she’s feeling alone is an understatement. All she feels she has is her horse, Cinnamon.

This is how she comes to meet Cassian Bellerose, the owner of the stables. He’s an outsider too, due to his parentage. (Side note: these fancy court people are judgmental and rude. Honestly, like Cassian asked to be born?? Come on.) Cassian is a bit of a bully and jerk when they first meet; I like to think it’s because he was attempting to resist the pull between them.

What starts as an irresistible attraction eventually turns into softer and deeper feelings, and we get to learn more about the inner workings of both Aubrey and Cassian. The physical intimacy between them is hot and steamy, and Breaking Her In is a great mix of the sweet and the sexy.

Definitely enjoyed the dirty talk and can’t wait for the next in the series.
