Queen B’s Decree: This book was a lot shorter than I expected. The first half of the story includes the prequel Do You Want Me? which I had already read. I was a little disappointed to see that the story of Delilah, Marcus, and Cody wasn’t expanded as much as I had hoped.
But what we got was great.
Someone is targeting Delilah and Marcus is there in the shadows, always one step ahead, protecting and admiring Delilah. Until it seems he can’t wait in the shadows any longer, Marcus finally makes contact with Delilah and she’s dealing with the dilemma of being equally scared and attracted to her white knight? Dark knight? Protector?
When we first met Delilah, she was a resident in the inpatient psych ward. This Love Hurts starts to give you a peek into her unraveling. It’s a slow progression, but I always wondered how such a confident and competent lawyer could end up in the psych ward.
Alas, it ended far too soon with more questions than answers. Sign me up for the next one; I’ll be here waiting.
